Short-term assignment in Montreal / North Shore / South Shore / West Island!!! Are you an independent contractor specializing in payroll, or a human resources generalist with significant payroll experience looking for more consulting opportunities in payroll management and processing? We are looking for talented and experienced independent contractors to join our network of payroll management and processing professionals. If you have strong payroll expertise (at least 5 years), mastery of specialized tools, and an excellent understanding of Canadian legislation, we want to collaborate with you!

Tasks

  • As a payroll processing specialist, you will play a key role in managing employee compensation for our clients. Here is an overview of the tasks:
  • Weekly payroll processing: collecting data (timesheets, absence management, overtime, bonuses, commissions, salary reviews).
  • Updating records: new hires, terminations, changes.
  • Data entry: entering data into payroll systems and managing reports for accounting (GL summary, payroll registers).
  • Cross-departmental collaboration: working closely with the human resources and accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with reports.
  • Regulatory compliance: constantly monitoring to ensure payroll compliance with applicable laws.
  • Annual and tax management: handling remittances, tax filings (T4, RL-1), and other obligations.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Job requirements

  • Professional or college degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience in weekly payroll processing.
  • Access to a vehicle to travel to client locations.
  • Intermediate bilingualism, as we have bilingual clients.
  • Mastery of payroll management software (Dayforce, Nethris, ADP, SAGE, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency with office tools (Word, Excel, PDF, etc.).
  • Payroll management certification (an asset).
  • Knowledge of Quebec and other Canadian provinces' payroll legislation, an asset.
